Deborah brings many years of experience from two other paths in her lives. She has 25+ years as a Master prepared Registered Nurse and many years as a spiritual leader in her community. It has been through these experiences that she realized that there were more variables influencing people, beyond their social determinants in their lives. She realized that she wanted to address the impacts of peoples’ lives on their emotional, social, relational and spiritual development.
Deborah uses a strength-based and client centered approach to her work with clients. She wishes to help all individuals deal with their fears, hurt, failure, inadequacies and self-identity. She meets the client where they are, staying curious and using her deep intuitive and empathic listening to discover, with them, what directions the work will take. She especially listens to and gives feedback to where the client works well in their lives and focusing on helping them develop more resources to resolve any struggles.

In Deborah’s other career, as a HIV Nurse and Nurse administrator and educator, she has worked extensively with a diverse population. She has worked with lower social-economic, POC, LGBTQA+ and youth communities. Throughout this work she relies on her relationship building and utilizes compassion with a bit of humor to build trust and coalition with the client.
