Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. The Board of Behavioral Sciences receives and responds to complaints regarding services provided within the scope of practice of both registered associates or licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed educational psychologists, clinical social workers, or professional clinical counselor.
