Rob enters the field of psychotherapy as an explorer of the human experience. He works to help others expand, understand and accept their whole experience of life. He believes that often clients come to seek help when there has been a disruption in their internal and/or external systems. He brings a curiosity, support, imagination, patience and sometimes a challenging presence to his interactions with clients. He delights in helping to facilitate and witness the profound transformation that occurs when therapy allows a client to emerge with a deeper understanding of themselves.
Rob’s past careers influences his approach to working with clients. He has been in the business world and a holistic Life Coach over the last 20 years. Through these experiences, he saw how people can become stuck. He realized that by being a psychotherapist he can help to unlock those aspects of one’s frozen state and help others move from an existential pessimism to a place of optimism, hope and peacefulness. Rob works collaboratively with his clients to develop a way to take this journey. He uses varied approaches and technique, such as deep listening and relating, somatic attunement and application of creating internal/external resourcing. When appropriate he pulls from psychotherapeutic approaches such as Gestalt, Cognitive Behavior and Transpersonal theories of psychology.
