Rebecca has lived her life using metaphor as a path to healing, both in self and with clients; as an expression of her life force; an avenue to bring joy and peace to all those who encounter her. In her journey of becoming a therapist, Rebecca has expressed her understanding of psychology in an array of areas in her life. In addition to working at Heart in Balance as a psychotherapist, she is a member of Living Arts Playback Theatre Ensemble and a director of Autobiographical Therapeutic Performances. She received a MA in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Drama Therapy.
These experiences have caused Rebecca to develop a profound commitment to help others discover the wisdom they hold within themselves. She deeply trusts the client’s capacity to thrive and believes this ability lies in their hands, hearts and imagination. As a therapist, Rebecca engages with her clients in both an inner and outer dialogue (verbal, cognitive and behavioral), using both traditional talk therapy and drama therapy techniques). She facilitates the creation of a new narrative by holding you and helping you hold yourself.

Rebecca welcomes all parts of you into the therapy room, those that are resilient and those that are vulnerable and feel fragile. She has a welcoming presence that is an integration of her empathy, clarity, humor and a fierce curiosity as to who you are. She is devoted to discover, together, areas of strength and challenges that her client’s sheer being possesses.
Over the last 5 years, Rebecca has worked with a myriad of people, who bring forth a variety of issues. Some that she has found she works very well and has a great deal of interest to continue to work with are:
Disorder Eating and/or Body Image (especially in adolescents and young adults)
Substance Abuse
Male Identity and definition of masculinity
Trauma—physical and relational
Couples and Relationships
