“The body is the vessel in which the transformation process takes place”
- James Hillman

After years growing up with a physician father, spending time at his office, the hospital and meeting patients, Jenny knew she wanted to be a healer. She just hadn’t decided which lineage. As she worked in the business world, she waited for her calling and it came to be a therapist. She didn’t immediately decide to enter the field and went into the direction of obtaining a Yoga Teacher Certificate and this brought her further into her embodiment of her emotional and physical self. It was only natural for her to seek out a lineage where a Somatic approach became a key element in healing others.
Jenny believes we are always working with all elements of the self: the body, mind, spiritual, cultural and environmental. She believes psychotherapy means work the body as much as the mind.  She approaches her sessions knowing that much of what clients brings into their time together are places where one’s “survival energy” becomes trapped in one’s body. Often, to address this response to both developmental and situational trauma, she utilizes an array of somatic interventions, especially those she has developed through her Somatic Experiencing trainings.

Jenny brings her creativity, perseverance, humor and warmth into her relationship with her clients. Though somatically trained, she also uses psycho-education to inform clients, interventions to work with the relationship between herself and her clients and engaging with client’s outside practitioners (such as: nutritionists, acupuncturists, or medical doctors), to provide an integrative and unique orientation to each client’s psychotherapeutic work.

Some of Jenny’s area of interest and experience are:

Trauma—developmental, surgeries, accidents, sexual/physical
Grief
Couples
Creating and maintaining Boundaries with others
Managing Anxiety and Depression

Jennifer Randt holds a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology, Somatic Specialization; Yoga Teacher Training certificate and is a Somatic Experience Practitioner. Supervised by Patricia E. Craven, LMFT, SEP License #MFC24859
